At this theatre in different years outstanding masters of direction worked here, and it has been created in 1933. The poster of theatre was always decorated with world and Russian classics. In repertoir of theatre alongside with modern dramatic art are the performances put on works of Dostoevsky, Chekhov, Turgenev, Ostrovsky, Shakespeare, Hugo, Bernard Show.
At theatre the museum telling about theatrical performances, histories, creativity of actors and directors is opened. The gallery of works of modern Kazakhstan artists works also in foyer of theatre. It contains more than three hundred works of the modern art: painting, graphics, sculpture, objects of installation.
